WebThis brick was found in the grounds of Rossington Hall. James Brown was the owner of the hall from 1845 until his death in 1877. On the OS 6 inch map of 1901 there is evidence of brick ponds just to the north of the hall so I suspect that this brick was made on the estate and pressed with the estate owner's initials.
