WebMar 7, 2024 · The classic triad of malformations seen in KTS consists of port wine stain (capillary malformation), underlying low-flow vascular malformations (venous and/or lymphatic malformations), and bone and/or soft-tissue limb hypertrophy of the affected extremity (36,41–43). Port-wine stain (PWS) is the second most common congenital vascular malformation characterized as ectatic capillaries and venules in the dermis that clinically appears as a deep red to purple patch on the skin. Typically, PWS progressively darken and may become hypertrophic or nodular without treatment.
