It incorporated a 4" flat wire voice coil attached to a light, curvilinear cone with a 4" aluminum diaphragm instead of a standard dust cap to extend high frequency response. The Thiele cab B-15's from 69-80 were offered with the Altec 418b and 421a. Most in-the-know (whatever that means) B-15'ers like the JBL's in the smaller double and single baffle cabs, and Altecs in the Thiele cabs.
