Webb7 juli 2024 · The IAFF’s own Constitution and By-Laws requires certain votes (officer elections, dues assessments, etc.) be conducted by “secret ballot.” This is the same term as used in the federal law, but where the federal law does not apply, the General President has employed a slightly different interpretation of the term. Webbamended Constitution and By-Laws is approved. Please note two additional changes that should be made to your Constitution and By-Laws. Article III, Section 5: Please be advised that at the 2024 IAFF Convention, delegates voted to add “status as a military veteran” to the IAFF Constitution nondiscrimination clause.
