Naval ROTC units are organized as battalions and also include NROTC students under "Marine Option" who will eventually be commissioned as officers in the Marine Corps. ROTC courses are considered electives for which students receive academic credit. To become a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Air Force, students must complete the three- or four-year AFROTC program.
