If you want minimal layers, that solitude is hard to beat. Personally I just like mixing it up. Their gear is so good its just fun to see all the possibilities you can come up with. In the conditions you describe I'd probably wear my midweight merino base layer and have the tech fleece and catalyst soft shell in my pack.

WebFeb 26, 2024 · Not the vest, but I have a catalyst jacket and a jet stream. Catalyst is lighter and breathes better. Jet stream is heavy and more windproof. It's an awesome combo for winter. I think the only snag with the Uncompagrhre is having two hoods is going to bunch up. They aren't to loud for me especially once they have broke in. They are light and a lot quieter than my rain gear. Late season if I want more I go to the Kryptek Dalibor II, I love that jacket.
