For 180 grain Sierra in .30-06 Hodgdon specifies 52.0-57.5 H4350, 53-56.5 IMR 4350. Sierra specifires 50.2-54 H4350, 49.3 - 52.9 IMR-435. I have a stock pile of imr 4350 i use for my browning 270 hunting rifle. I know they are not identical, but would they be close enough to warrant trying before investing in another powder?

Hodgdon 4350 is greenish in color, and IMR 4350 is black in color. Personally I like the IMR powder better. When I talked to one of the lab tecks at Westernpowders, I asked him about their 4350 powder.
