I’ve never had a need to select UV islands with a single click; it’s natural for me at this point to just click a vert/edge/face and hit the right bracket ] key to select all connected on the UV island. WebEither turn off the UV sync button in the top left (the 2 arrows), or switch to face mode to avoid that. You're selecting all the points on that island, but those points are also part of other islands. Imagine you have 2 quads connected to each other, even if you split them up in the UVs, they still share the middle edge.

WebJun 28, 2024 · Currently sync-selection uses the mesh selection for UV editing, with the hard-limitation that it's not possible to select 1 side of a UV island when it's vertex is shared with another. This proposal doesn't cover the details of how this would work.
WebWith sync ON you see UV's for all visible mesh, but now you can select any part of it for editing with no loosing UV's same as you can select mesh from UV's ( eg. stacked similar islands faster to select from UV's than from 3D view ). IMO this separation have sense and it give specific advantages. Of course it all can work better and sync mode ...
